Bringing block prints back
Be a little experimental with whatever is at your hand and what you get is one off piece. Take the staple fabric of lawn for instance and the way it has started to look. Block prints on the other hand, have long been neglected. Wardha Saleem, a fairly new designer in the industry has experimented with this long deserted technique. Her clothes are vibrant and the rich colour combinations extend in embellishments as well. She has played around with the block prints adding more value to simple bright colours by making wearable, funky clothes with it. These outfits are not for the faint hearted or the old. traditionally used for the 3-piece jora, Wardha's take on block prints is much younger and fresher, with tops paired with capri pants and skirts that are perfect for Pakistan's super hot summer. The outfits are perfect for those who do not wont to give in to the subtler side of summer wear. These clothes will definitely make heads tum, not just because of the vibrant colour palette but also for cuts and of course the modernity of a traditional craft well-translated.
